My Fear of One More Thing

Isn't this a great picture? I must have taken a hundred pictures of this bridge.
Do you know why I took so many pictures?
I was hoping it would take my mind off the fact that we were driving over it. It didn't work. But I got lots of nice pictures.

And what do they choose!?

We make it to sunny Florida and everyone is in high spirits. It was such a relief. The sun is shining, the air is warm and my kids are starved.
So we tell them they can pick out anywhere they want to go to eat.
I'm thinking Ruth Chris Steak House. Or the Melting Pot. Somewhere we can be served.
But no, my kids pick Sonic because they've never eaten there. So instead we got hamburgers from a gal on roller skates whom I forgot to take pictures of. DUH! The girls were so excited that they would be able to tell their friends (when the commercial comes on tv) that they have eaten there. Does this make us white trash? BTW the food sucked.

All Aboard

Well as you can see, we all made it on the plane.
We were a little worse for the wear. Did I spell that right? Hee hee. We had a nice flight. I got to sleep through part of it.
Dane slept but when he woke up he was full of it. Mimi and I sat together. We were drugged up so we wouldn't puke. I had such a bad night I don't know how I didn't puke. My anxiety was at a max. My stomach burned, my hands shook and I couldn't keep a thought in my head.
This was the first part of our flight. It went without a hitch. We flew into Altanta and then had a two hour hold over. At first I thought this was going to suck big time but it didn't. We had time to freshen up and boy I know I needed to. Then we went into a Chilli's and sat and had an early lunch. Dave was able to put his leg up to take some pressure off his knee. The kids and I got to stuff our faces and make fun of the people as they walked buy. I wish I would have taken pictures of some of the weird stuff but my brain was still in Maine.

We're home:)

Last Monday afternoon we left on our hillbilly vacation. We made it to our hotel room and wondered if that was as far as we were going to go. Dave's knee was worse than ever and after the kids went to sleep we discussed his not going with us. It was a rough night with no sleep and a wake up call for 3am.
I told Dave he had to smile for the camera so years from now the kids would think he was actually having a good time. Laying in a hotel bed with a machine on his leg. Good times I say, good times.
Of course Dane always has a good because he wears not one pair of sunglasses at night but two.
I'll post more vacation stuff later today but I'm watching a slew of kids and trying to get the basement cleaned. I hope the dumpster gets here soon.

Not Quite Ready

We are getting ready to leave for Florida. I don't know if we will actually leave or not. That remains to be seen.
I don't like to fly coupled with Dave's not wanting the entire family to fly together is wearing on us all. I will suck it up and we will all fly on the same plane (for goodness sakes) I will just stress everyone out until it happens.

We have someone that's staying here at the house to take care of the animals. I think Trapper is going to have a very hard time without us. More specific without Dane. Lately Dane and Trapper have been best friends. Saturday, after spending the day at work with Dave, Dane came home and blew right by me going straight to Trapper. This afternoon Trapper was laying in front of the stove and a while later I went to the kitchen and Dane was asleep on top of him. I couldn't get my camera quick enough. So I don't know who is going to miss who the most.

It truly will be a miracle if we get out of the house. You see, last weekend Dave some how hurt his knee. It now looks like a cantaloupe. Friday afternoon the Dr. with drew forty five Mg's of fluid from it. It looks like he'll have to go back and have it done again in the morning. Then, this morning, Mimi got up puking and by noon Dane was asking me if he could go back to bed. I really am flipping out. Right now I should be doing more laundry and packing not to mention the pile of dishes in the sink. Instead I'm here Blogging. Right now I don't have enough pressure to get it all done by myself. I work best when I leave everything to the last minute. Then it doesn't matter, just chuck the stuff in suitcases and go. Buy what I forgot when we get their.

I'll be taking many pictures but I don't think we're bring the laptop (that frigger is HEAVY) so I don't know if I will be able to keep in touch or not. So don't worry if you don't hear anything for a couple weeks. Wish us luck and if you pray do that too. We have a 5:45am flight that has a two and a half hour hold over in Atlanta. I know but I found the tickets online and they were dirt cheap. Our flight home is easy peazy lemon squeezy though. Since we live an hour and a half from the airport we are getting a room tomorrow night by the airport. That's so I don't puke before I get on the plane. Lord knows I'll probably puke on it. Hopefully the drugs will kick in and Mimi and I will sleep the whole way.

I will look forward to catching up with you when I get back!

The Camera Thief

Dane has been filching my camera and been taking pictures. I don't always catch him in the act but I know he's had it when I download pictures like this one.
Or maybe this one here. I think that's a pair of dirty socks on the back of the chair. Or maybe dirty boxers? I most certainly didn't take that picture. It also makes one really think before touching the chairs in my DINING ROOM!
Dane lost my camera for most of the day yesterday. It was a long day. He really is putting us through our paces and someone really needs to set some boundaries and tell that brat "NO". Any takers?
I do have to say that I amazed at how clean the floor looks. And how awful the door looks and the same time. We really need to finish that trim work. We'll have to put it on the to do list. Well it is already on the to do list and has been for four years. It just needs to put closer to the top.

Taking a class

Last night I started a class at our local meat market. We learned how to debone a chicken, then where the chicken tender is located and then we made Chicken Cor Don Bleu. All of which was quite easy. No the hard part was to make this damn duck! Even though mine looks like a kid made it I had fun doing it. So much in fact that I'm going to throw money to the wind and make one for each place setting at the Easter Dinner table on Sunday. With the kids help of course. Tonight I'm going to post how we made these but it will probably be in two or three post as I can only post three pictures at a time. Grrrrr. So look for it. These were great fun to make and you only need a slight skill level. Well maybe no skill at all. Next week we move on to pork.
On other fronts, before I went to take a shower this was a half of cake. When I finished my shower it looked like the dog got it. Unfortunately it was Dane. He was the culprit with chocolate all over his face at 9:00 am.
