Diggin his little ladies

The boy playing with his girls.

The boy contemplating the meaning of why his girls poop so much.

He's loving every minute of picture time.

This past weekend I offered to help a friend's son process his meat chickens. He bought them and took care of them until it was time to do them in and then a few very nice adults volunteered to help out with the slaughter and process of them.
Marian had been itching for a Mother-Daughter Day. So I brought her along. I never thought she would find happiness in a dead chicken. Also know I have never done this before either. That my friends is another post......

She had no problem disposing of the head and feet and stuck her hand inside that chicken

with the skill and concentration of a brain surgeon.

I think I see her becoming a doctor or a veterinarian in the future!

I feel like this chick tonight. I don't know why, I didn't do a darn thing today. I layed around like a princess until the girls got home from school then we did some yard work. I didn't even make dinner I ordered a pizza. Which is rare in our house. I think I'm feeling run down because we had some gloomy weather and I JUST CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew I feel better now.
My little guy is passed out in a chair with pizza sauce smeared all over his face. My dilemma is, do I wake him up to brush his teeth and wash his face or do I say the heck with it and throw him in bed until morning. His feet are clean....(When I was little my mom would always check our feet before bed to make sure they weren't green)

Do you remember when I told you my sister gave me a gift certificate to King Arthur Flour? Well you might think that this is what I bought with it but it's not. Brand new these cookbooks run about twenty five dollars a piece. Which is a nice price but I didn't want to spend the whole gift certificate on cookbooks. If you haven't cruised the website, you must! So I did what I always do. I went on EBay and bought them both for less than half of what I would have paid for one of them.
I know I have a sickness...
The worse part is...I still haven't place an order! Every time I go to order I change my mind. I'm the most indecisive person I know. I think.

Monday Morning Blues

I'm so glad the weekend is over. I'm not sure why though. It wasn't bad or even busy. Maybe it's because of the weather. I know the kids would be crazy today if they had to stay inside all day.

The girls had their piano recital's over the weekend. It was fun to watch their face's when they messed up. They would smile and keep on going. Even though the lessons crimped our budget they were worth every penny.

They break for piano during the summer but will start back up in the fall. Mimi will be taking trombone lessons all summer. I still can't believe that she plays the trombone and loves it. I think she is working up to a sax. She is also going to basketball camp. Hopefully I can keep everyone busy this summer so I don't have to hear the I'm bored routine.
The kids get out of school this week. Chrissy gets out at 9am and Mimi at 10am. What a wastes of gas.

On the chick front....They are doing well. THEY POOP ALL THE TIME!!!!! Every time I enter the brooder they all run to that one corner and huddle until I get close to them and then they scatter like roaches. I pick every single one of them up several times a day to make sure they don't have pasty butt or poop stuck to their feet. I'm hoping that they will get used to being held. The girls love them. So far I haven't had any problems getting kids to check on them but it hasn't been a week.....
The chicks are starting to get their feathers in. It's so exciting. they sure don't stay babies very long.

I took this picture late last night! What a funny little girl....

Monday Monday

Today I'm going to tell you what I hate and love about this picture.
I'll start with hate first. Get the pesky negative crap out of the way.
I hate the fact that a certain someone left the cupboards open AGAIN!!!
I hate the counters being all cluttered.
I hate when all the counters are cluttered people pile stuff on the dishwasher. But you can't see that but it's there I tell you!
I hate the fact that the graters hanging on the wall by the sink aren't hanging correctly.
I hate that my sneakers on the floor by Marians feet (that you can't see) got left outside overnight a few nights after this picture was taken and a cat pissed all over them. They are my yard sneakers and I can't get the smell out. Right now they are soaking in bleach.
I love the look on Marians face. It's a look I get quite often so I've learned to love it. I'd love a smile better but I'll take what I can get.
I love that Mimi loves to do her own hair. I might not love how it comes out but I love the fact that she loves it.
I love that she tried on at least six dresses before she settled on this one. Which was the first one she put on.
I love the gold nail polish she's painting on her fingers. But I wonder why it's gold on her but when I try to use it, it makes my nails look yellow. (Never use a new color on your way out the door to a funeral or you'll keep your hands in your pocket alot.)
And last but not least....I love they way her nose sits on her face. It's beautiful.

First of the year

This weekend the girls had the first camp out of the season. The best part was that it didn't include me. They slept out back by themselves. In the little tent.

They have been fighting so much that I couldn't believe how happy they were.

I thought they would be in the house by midnight. Then when I looked at the clock and it was one, I thought they'll be in by three. Nope, they made it until 6:30.
They didn't sleep well and they have been fighting ever since.
I think I might burn my eardrums.
Do other kids fight like this?

We've decided that we aren't going to go anywhere this summer. Between the cost of gas and the girls fighting it's just not worth it to us. I feel sad and like I'm screwing the children out of something but I really don't know how much more Z and I can take. To go and blow a ton of money (that we should be saving) on kids that are fighting isn't smart.
I really feel bad for little man. He doesn't know what to make of the fighting. It scares him and is scarring him. I've been reading books to get ideas on what I should do and they all suck. Either these people didn't have girls or they are dumb. Nothing I do phases them. Take the TV from their room, oh well. Take away toys, oh well. They just don't give a  shit.
Unless of course it's fighting with each other.
